About PFDA

What We Do

The Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association provides advocacy, continuing education, information, legal expertise, products, programs and services to help members enhance the quality of service to families.

Keep PFDA Members Informed

Through collaboration, education, leadership and professional development, we empower our members and keep them updated on the latest consumer trends, marketing vehicles, business practices and safety standards.

Provide Experienced Legal Counsel

PFDA provides access to the funeral profession's finest legal expertise. We provide legal information to PFDA members through Counsel Memos, PFDA legal/regulatory publications and consultations with our general counsel.

Ensure Effective Advocacy

Our collective voice allows us to take a strong legislative stance on key issues affecting our profession. The funeral profession is changing rapidly. There is a continued increase in unlicensed practitioners operating within and outside the traditional funeral service. If you are an involved member of PFDA, you can take part in the process and have a say about the funeral profession's response. No other organization exists exclusively to represent the interests of Pennsylvania funeral directors in today's rapidly changing economic and political climate.

Continuing Education Programs

As a free service to our members, PFDA is providing a number of opportunities for licensed funeral directors to receive Continuing Education credits. You can earn continuing education credit hours required for license renewal by attending the PFDA sponsored educational program.Continuing education programs are scheduled throughout the year at PFDA events - including the annual convention and district meetings.

Address the Needs of Our Communities

PFDA provides programs to address the unique needs and challenges within our member communities. Members make a difference every day in their communities through charitable fundraising, mass casualty and disaster training programs and national memorial campaigns.
