David C. Garrett Sr. 

David C. Garrett Sr. age 82 of Holland, Pennsylvania passed away on Friday, August 5, 2022 at home. Dave was a strong and caring man, who showed kindness and love to every person he met. He had an extremely quick wit and was known for his sense of humor, determination and hard-working attitude. He was born on May 9, 1940 in Des Moines, Iowa and graduated from Bensalem High School in 1958 before studying at Temple University. He became a Funeral Director in 1961 and worked diligently throughout his entire career. Dave is survived by his loving wife of over sixty years Janet, their two children David C. Garrett Jr. (Denise) and Barbara Tiger (Chuck Koenig) and their grandchildren Caitlin Tiger, Joey Tiger, Drew Garrett, and Steven Wilson Jr. He is also survived by his brother, Bobby Dean. Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral services which will be held at Joseph Fluehr Funeral Home in Richboro 800 Newtown- Richboro Rd, Richboro, PA 18954 on Thursday, August 11, 2022. The viewing will be held from 9:00-11:00 AM followed by a service at 11:00 AM, with the internment immediately following at Sunset Memorial 333 W County Line Rd, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. Patricia A. Urban (Stahl)

Of Munhall, on August 7, 2022, age 84. Beloved wife of 53 years of the late Regis N. Urban. Daughter of the late Charles and Agnes (Kritko) Stahl. Proud mother of Regis S. (Darla) Urban, David C. (Chris) Urban, Gail A. (Ronald) Bachy and Paul J. Urban. Sister of James (late Loretta) Stahl, David (Gloria) Stahl and the late Charles “Ray” (late Mary Lou) Stahl. Loving Grandma “MeMa” of Alan Bachy, Ellen (Jason) Cole, Dan (Sara) Powers, Rebecca (Ryan) Lasek, Daniel Wolfgang Urban, Laura, Anna and Sarah Urban. Great MeMa of Evelyn, Emily and Mason Powers. Also survived by her former daughter-in-law, Stephanie Urban, numerous nieces and nephews, her friends at Locust Grove and her beloved cat, Henry. Pat was a graduate of the Community College of Allegheny County, South Campus, where she worked for several years in the computer center. Kevin M. Lyons

Kevin M. Lyons, 61 of Glenolden, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 15, 2022, in his home.

Born in Darby, PA, he was the son of the late Martin and the late Irene Claire (O'Fee) Lyons.

Kevin grew up in Ridley Township. He attended Ridley High School graduating in 1979, then received his Associates Degree in Business Administration from Delaware County Community College. Kevin graduated from The Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Sciences in 1983.

He was an active member of the Our Lady of Peace parish where he served on the Finance committee and could be found as an usher most Sundays. Kevin has been a licensed funeral Director for 40 plus years. He worked for James F. Knoetgen Funeral Home from the time he got licensed until he started his own business in 1999. Starting Kevin M. Lyons Funeral Service was a dream come true. Kevin loved serving the families of Delaware County and the surrounding areas. As a member of the NFDA/PFDA, he served as President of the Delco Funeral Directors Association for several years. Kevin was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus at the Peace Council 4518. He was also an avid Philadelphia sports fan and loved attending games with family and friends.

Kevin was the most kind, compassionate, and selfless person you could meet. He deeply cared about all of the families he served. He was heavily involved in the community and local parishes. Although his business was in Glenolden he was proud to be a Ridley Raider. Kevin was everyone's biggest supporter and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.

Survived by his sisters Claire (Don) Drake, Rosemary Gaudioso, Nieces and Nephews Brian Rooney, Kim Keifer, Ryan Drake and Danielle Drake, 2 Great-Nieces, 2 Great-Nephew and 1 Great-Great niece, his funeral staff, as well as many family and friends.

According to Kevin’s wishes a memorial mass will be held on September 3, 2022, at Our Lady of Peace Church, 208 Milmont Avenue, Folsom, PA 19033 at 11:00 AM.

Burial will be private for the family.

Eugene C. Coleman

Eugene C. Coleman, 88 years old of South Fayette, formerly of Cecil Township died Monday, August 29, 2022 in his home.

He was born January 1, 1934 in Sturgeon, PA, son of the late James and Rose Coleman.

Gene enjoyed his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, family vacations, traveling and the Pittsburgh Symphony Pops.

He was a graduate of Cecil High School, then served in the U.S. Army before attending Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science to become a licensed funeral director.

Gene owned and operated Coleman Funeral Home in Cecil for fifty years, taking over in 1957 after his father’s untimely death. After selling the business in 2007, he still frequented Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services regularly; greeting guests and sharing stories. Early on in his career, he ran the ambulance in Cecil Township, caring for many of the residents, and became one of Washington County’s first EMT’s. In the late 70’s he helped establish Cecil Area EMS. For many years, before 9-1-1 was established, he was the call taker and dispatcher for the Cecil Fire Department, waking at all hours to blow the siren and alert the Cecil Fire Fighters of an emergency. He was awarded an honorary lifetime membership from the Cecil Township Volunteer Fire Company #3. Gene was a member of Corpus Christi Parish, St. Mary’s Church, Cecil, a member, and former president, of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association, and the Pennsylvania and National Funeral Directors Associations.

Surviving are son Eugene (Laura) Coleman of Houma, LA, daughter Rosanne (Robert) Rodgers of Cecil, son David (Jennifer) Coleman of Eldersburg, MD; nine grandchildren, Rachel (Jake) Pierron, Mark (Maddie) Coleman, Blake (Jessica) Coleman, Claire and Colette Rodgers, Emily (Zach) Proffen, Allison, Faith and Ethan Coleman; eight great-grandchildren, Anna and Adeline Pierron, Lauren and Meredith Coleman, Henry Coleman, and Sutton, Avery and Ryann Proffen.

Also surviving are brothers James (Grace) Coleman and John Coleman, many beloved nieces and nephews, family and friends, and the dear staff and residents of Chartiers Bend.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Shirley Vercek Coleman, his parents and sister, Mary Ann Coleman.

Friends will be received Wednesday, August 31st from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Rd. Cecil, PA 15321, where prayers of transfer will be said on Thursday, September 1st at 9:30am, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Corpus Christi Parish, St. Mary’s Church, Cecil.

Interment will follow immediately at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
