Margaret Kanai

Kanai, Margaret (Murray) on Thursday, February 17, 2022 in West Palm Beach Florida, age 98, formerly of Greenfield. Beloved wife of the late Edward P. Kanai. Cherished mother of Edward P. (Judy) Jr, David M. (Kate), Donald C. (Roseann), Christine P. (Thomas) Grana of Warren PA, Dennis J. (Cynthia) of Atlantis FL, Timothy S. (Janet) of Lake Worth FL, Peter P. (Polly) of Shelby NC, and the late James S. Kanai. Sister of James Murray of Carnegie, and the late Marcella Clark, Charlotte Vice, Mary Christine, Maureen Spirko (her twin), John, William, and Robert Murray. Also survived by 20 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Margaret enjoyed playing bridge, golfing and volunteering for many organizations in both Pittsburgh and Florida. Friends will be received on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Edward P. Kanai Funeral Home, 500 Greenfield Ave. 15207. Funeral on Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Rosalia Church. Martin J. Burns, Jr.

Known as the "nicest guy you'd ever want to meet," Martin J. Burns, Jr. “Marty” passed away suddenly February 18, 2022 at the age of 80. Born in Fishtown and a resident of Churchville, PA. Graduate of Father Judge High School, St. Joseph’s University and Ekels Mortuary School. A U.S Army Veteran, and a dedicated licensed funeral director for over 55 years.

Loving husband of over 56 years to Patricia “Pat” (nee Barrett). Devoted father of Kelli Ann Gerrow and Kate Burns-Luff (Todd). Loving Pop to Christopher and Grace. Dear Brother to Jerry (Jean), Joe (Denise) and the late Robert, Sr. (Maria). Uncle of Patty, Kathleen “Sissy”, Mary, Joe, Lisa, Bobby, Marty, Jerry, Scott, Shamus, Shannon, Kelsey and Grace. Beloved friend of Ron and Barb Rothenbach, Bill and Claire Sautter, Jan and Nick Muzekari.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Wednesday Eve 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM, and Thursday morning 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM at the Burns Funeral Home, 9708 Frankford Ave., Phila PA 19114 followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Katherine of Siena Church, 9700 Frankford Ave., Phila PA 19114.
