Roseann G. Kanai

Kanai Roseann G. “Skip” 71, of Plum formerly of Hazelwood. Passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, November 9th, 2022. Preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Stella Giordano Sr. and brother Frank Giordano Jr. Survived by her loving husband, of 46 years, Donald Kanai; beloved daughter Stefanie Kanai; as well as numerous brother and sister-in-law’s, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Skip was an animal lover, shopping fanatic, and avid gambler who enjoyed trips to the casino. She was fiercely protective of her family, and took up for those she cared for.  Friends will be received on Monday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Edward P. Kanai Funeral Home, 500 Greenfield Ave. 15207. Barbara L. Bacha

Barbara L. Bacha, 85, of Southwest Greensburg, died Sunday, November 13, 2022, at home.  She was born September 13, 1937, in Harrison Township, a daughter of the late Albert L. and Marcella R. (Starceski) Vigrass.  She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School, Natrona, and St. Francis School of Nursing.  Barbara worked as a registered nurse at Westmoreland Hospital and with her husband established the Leo M. Bacha Funeral Home, Inc. in 1960.  She currently served as owner and President with locations in Greensburg and Pleasant Unity.  She was a member of St. Paul Parish and its Rosary Altar Society.  She had been a member and past President of the Greensburg Junior Women’s Club.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leo M. Bacha; her sister, Arlene Vigrass; and her brother-in-law, Michael W. Bacha.  She is survived by her children, Kathleen A. Bacha, of Southwest Greensburg, Kenneth A. Bacha and wife Debbie, of Greensburg, and John M. Bacha, of Pleasant Unity; four grandchildren, Haley M. Bacha, of Pittsburgh, Hilary R. Senerius and husband Michael, of Greensburg, Sydney L. Bacha, of Southwest Greensburg, and Matthew J. Bacha, of Pleasant Unity; her extended granddaughter, Kelsye Hantz and husband Chad, of Greensburg, and their daughter Penelope; her sisters-in-law, Mary “Sis” Welsh, of Bellevue, Michelene Bacha Heller, and Martha Bacha, both of Natrona Heights; several nieces, nephews and cousins; longtime friend and co-worker, Michael W. Schlosser, of Southwest Greensburg; loyal employees of the funeral home who have been with Leo and Barb for years; and several close friends.  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at the Leo M. Bacha Funeral Home, Inc., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Thursday in St. Paul Parish, Greensburg.  Please go directly to the church on Thursday.  Interment will follow in St. Clair Cemetery, Hempfield Township.  The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Paul Parish or to the Southwest Greensburg, Greensburg, or Pleasant Unity Volunteer Fire Departments.  www.bachafh.com

Peggy J. Behm

Peggy J. Behm, 89 of Jefferson, died Wednesday, November 30, 2022 in Evergreen Assisted Living, Waynesburg.

She was born September 1, 1933 in Richhill Township, Greene County, a daughter of the late Kermit C. and Theo Chambers McCartney.

Peggy was a graduate of East Washington High School and had attended Penn Commercial College.

On April 22, 1953 she married Frank J. Behm, who died July 25, 2016.

Peggy worked and assisted her husband in the operation of the Behm Funeral Homes in Jefferson and Waynesburg, a secretary for the Greene County Coroner’s office, and a Registrar for Pennsylvania Department of Vital Records.

She is a member of Hewitt Presbyterian Church, Rices Landing and the former Jefferson Presbyterian Church, where she was a former elder and member of the Women’s Association; an Honorary member of the Jefferson Volunteer Fire Company and a former member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter# 135, Waynesburg.

Surviving are two daughters, Debbie (Jeff) Sands of Rogersville and Mary (Greg) Rohanna of Jefferson; five sons, Chuck (Kim) Behm of Rices Landing, John L. (Lisa) Behm M.D. of Wexford, Mark Behm of Jefferson, Scott (Marla) Behm of Cardale, and Clay (Jennifer) Behm of Waynesburg; 18 grandchildren, Jessica, Melanie and Ben Sands, Bonnie Jackson, Allison Kemmere, David and Adam Behm, Ashley Gregg, Katie Dick, Ryan and Matt Rohanna, Olivia, Meredith, Abraham, Emily, Lily, Will and Ray Behm; thirteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Michael McCartney of Cleveland, OH.

Deceased is a brother, Kermit McCartney Jr.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm in the Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 11:00 am, with Dr. Rev. William Parker, officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park.
