Judith Ann Bordogna Glunt

Judith Ann Bordogna Glunt, 78 of Edinboro, died Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Braddock, PA on May 5, 1943, the daughter of the late Mary Jane Rubash and Angelo F. Bordogna.

Judi grew up in Level Green, PA, helping in her mother's catering business, Jane and Ton Catering located in Pittsburgh. She graduated from Penn Joint High School in 1961. Upon graduation, she attended Franco Beauty Academy, graduating in 1962. Judi worked at the Phil Mazacas Beauty Salon in Squirrel Hill from 1962-1963. In 1963 she opened her own shop in Level Green, where she worked until her marriage to Harry D. Glunt in 1965. The two moved to Edinboro that same year, where she later co-owned Judi & Trudi's Beauty Salon. In 1976 she and her husband built their permanent home just outside of Edinboro where she opened Judi's Beauty Salon. She closed the shop in 1984 when she went to work full time with her husband at the Harry D. Glunt Funeral Home in Edinboro. She was a major part of the funeral home operation for many years, comforting families, working calling hours and funerals, and being her husband's “right hand”, always letting him believe he was “the boss”.

Judi was a long time member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. She was current President of the Altar Rosary Society and a past member of the Shadbush Club.

Judi had the amazing ability to make you feel like family shortly after meeting her. She loved to entertain family and friends with huge portions of food, ensuring no one ever left her house hungry. She frequently helped with unforgettable church dinners, parties and events. After retiring from the funeral home, she became Chairwoman of the Funeral Dinner Committee at Our Lady of the Lake. In addition, Judi and her husband volunteered many hours over the past fifteen years at the Edinboro Legion Community Pool, where Judi organized the Legion Cafe'.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jayne A. Glunt-Johnson in July of 2017; and her brother, Gerald Bordogna in 1997.

(Margaret) Glunt, of Edinboro; her son-in-law, Brandon Johnson of Cambridge Springs; also, three grandchildren, Gabriel Glunt, Alexander and Erin Johnson; and many, many close friends who were like family.
